The business sectors of Sailing and Business are operated by Kiel-Marketing GmbH.
Image- and local advertising-activities of the state capital Kiel under the brand of KIEL.SAILING CITY are operated by Kiel-Marketing GmbH. The general purpose according to the agreement of the supervisory board is the development and marketing of Kiel City, it's location and tourism.

The sole proprietor of the GmbH is the State Capital Kiel. The board of directors consist of 10 members. The mayoress of the Kiel Capital and present town councillor for economy Torsten Albig is the chairman of the executive board of the GmbH and of the supervisory board of the Kiel-Marketing association. The GmbH was founded 2006 and is registered as HRB 8222 KI at the municipal court in Kiel. Through the close proximity of the Kiel-Marketing GmbH and the association Kiel-Marketing as well as by the common management of the business activities an extensive synergy is supposed to be achieved.

The composition of the supervisory board and the chairman of the board is defined through the companion contract.
